Early College Open House for Lynchburg City Schools

CVCC Early College Open House for Lynchburg City Schools

Central Virginia Community College will host a Lynchburg City Schools Early College Open House for rising high school juniors and their parents on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 6:00 pm. The event will be held on the CVCC Main Campus in Merritt Hall (Multipurpose Room).  

The CVCC Early College Program is a unique program offered by Central Virginia Community College designed for high school juniors who have exhibited the dedication to academics necessary to succeed in a rigorous program. The Early College Program provides an opportunity for these students to receive their high school diploma and their Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in General Studies from CVCC at the same time.  The Early College Program is for students planning to enter four- year colleges and universities.

Open House attendees will become acquainted with the CVCC Early College admissions requirements, application process, placement testing, program of study, cost of attending, student support services, transfer opportunities and more!

Fall Enrollment

Fall 2014 enrollment has begun.  You can register for fall classes through your "MyCVCC" account or you can come in and meet with a Counselor to register. Click here to view the Fall schedule of classes. 

If you are new to CVCC follow these steps to become a CVCC student today!

Step One: Apply for Admission to CVCC

Step Two: Come in and take the Virginia Placement math and English test. More information about the placement test can be found here. Be sure to take the practice test first.

Step Three: Meet with a Counselor to go over your placement test scores and register for classes. For Counseling Office hours please call 434-832-7800.

Step Four: Fill out an application for Financial Aid (FAFSA)

Liberty University and Lynchburg College Visit CVCC Campus this Week

A representative from Liberty University will be in the student center Thursday April 10th from 9:30-12:30. And on Friday, April 11th a representative from Lynchburg College will be in the Student Center from 11-1.

This is a great opportunity to visit with these prospective schools so be sure to stop by.

Fall Enrollment Begins Friday!

Fall Enrollment begins this Friday, April 11th! For Walk-In hours contact the Counseling Office at 832-7800.

The Fall 2014 schedule is now available online so be sure to take a look at the courses we are offering then come in beginning Friday, April 11th to sign up for courses.

Fall tuition is not due until July 24th. If you have not already completed a Fall 2014-2015 FAFSA be sure to complete it today, since it can take between 4-6 weeks to process.
